Women’s open 7’s camp held in sunny conditions
Last weekend, the Finnish Rugby Federation organized a women’s open 7’s rugby camp in Vantaa, Finland. While the rest of the country had some snowfall, the weather in Vantaa was sunny and perfect for some late autumn rugby.
Nearly 40 enthusiastic players from each rugby club that has its own women’s team attended the course. Over the weekend the players learned about 7’s rugby and familiarized themselves with what it is like to play in a women’s national rugby team. In addition, the players completed specific running tests (10 meters, 50 meters and a two-minute running test).
Based on the players’ performances, a selection will be made for different national team training groups for the up-coming season. The next official women’s national team 7’s camp will be held in November in Eerikkilä Sports Center.
